Schedule: Multiple shifts available, including 6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., and 12:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. Alternative schedules may include Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday.

About the Role
The Diesel Technician is a critical role in our fleet operation, responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing trucks and power units to ensure maximum uptime and reliability. We are committed to technician development and offer a structured leveling system (Apprentice, Journeyman, and Lead/Diagnostic Tech) that provides a clear growth path within our team. Technician Levels & Responsibilities
Apprentice Technician (Entry-Level)
- Experience: 1-2 years in a maintenance or technician role, OR completion of a trade school program, OR a combination of both.
- Key Responsibilities: Assist senior technicians with preventative maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs
- Perform fluid changes, brakes, batteries, and tire repairs under supervision
- Learn and use basic diagnostic tools and repair procedures
- Follow shop safety protocols and procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills
Journeyman Technician (Mid-Level)
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in truck repair or a related field
- Key Responsibilities: Perform advanced maintenance and repair work independently, including brakes, suspension, driveline, exhaust, and cooling systems
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, including emissions-related failures
- Use OEM and aftermarket diagnostic software to troubleshoot issues and perform calibrations
- Conduct DOT inspections and ensure regulatory compliance
- Assist in mentoring and training Apprentice Technicians
- Work with the Parts Supervisor to ensure necessary components are ordered and available
- Maintain detailed work orders and service records
Lead/Diagnostic Technician (Senior-Level)
- Experience: 5+ years of experience with advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair, plus leadership capabilities
- Key Responsibilities: Perform complex diagnostics and in-depth repairs on power units, including engine, transmission, electrical, and emissions systems
- Lead troubleshooting efforts on advanced fault codes, CAN communication issues, and regen/emission system failures
- Conduct in-depth root cause analysis on recurring mechanical and electronic failures
- Work closely with fleet management and OEM support teams to resolve difficult repair cases
- Provide training and mentorship to Journeyman and Apprentice Technicians, developing the next generation of skilled techs
- Ensure all repairs meet safety, compliance, and fleet reliability standards
- Take ownership of shop organization, workflow, and best practices to improve efficiency

Required Qualifications
- Apprentice: 1-3 years of experience OR trade school OR a combination of both
- Journeyman: 3+ years of hands-on experience in truck repair or a related field
- Lead/Diagnostic: 5+ years of experience with advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency
- Basic computer skills for diagnostics and record-keeping
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various shop conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE or OEM certifications (Journeyman and Lead levels)
- Experience with diesel engines, emissions systems, and diagnostic tools
- CDL or ability to obtain one (preferred for Lead/Diagnostic Technicians)
