DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist drivers with shippers/receivers, route issues, etc.
- Assist drivers with equipment issues (troubleshoot over the phone or at the terminal)
- Communicate in a timely and effective manner with customers and drivers regarding delivery commitments via mobile com, email, phone, faxes
- Communicate with office personnel on topics like human resource issues, payroll, benefits, equipment defects, DOT issues etc.
- Communicate with supervisor about the status of drivers, problems, delays, etc.
- Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner which reflects Stewart Transport’s values and facilitates the success of the business
- Act as a liaison between the driver and all internal departments.
- Any other reasonable related job duties as assigned.
- Know, support and enforce company policies at all times.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Previous transportation dispatch related experience preferred
- TMW Suite Experience preferred
- Experience with PC to include internet based programs, MS office.
- Understanding of DOT regulations: HOS, Weight, Hazmat regulations etc. preferred
- Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Flexible and able to handle changing priorities
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills- Great attention to detail
- Works well with short notice changes and high stress situations
- Must be independent, decisive and able to follow through with all tasks until completion
REQUIREMENTS:
- REQUIRED – COMPUTER & APPLICATION SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE: Candidate must have experience and proficiency with the following computer operating systems and application programs: Microsoft Windows (Operating System), Microsoft Office Applications, Word (Word Processing), Excel (Spreadsheets), and Outlook (Email)
- REQUIRED – COMPUTER & APPLICATION SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE: Candidates that have experience with TWM Suites
- EXPERIENCE: Candidates with prior Dry or Refrigerated dispatch experience is preferred.
- COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE: Preferred
